The Code Room Episode 3 is Out
By Yazan Malakha
Episode 3 of the Code Room is out. Incase you haven’t been following up on MSDN and Channel 9; the code room is a half an hour show in which a developers are challendged to come up with solutions for a specific problem using one of Microsoft’s technologies. And while it doesn’t provide the viewer with indepth technical information, it provides an insight into life of developers under the pressure of a deadline.
The episode starts up as your typical tv drama, with the hackers team being able to steal 400,000 dollars off a casino. A few technical terms thrown around such as SQL injection, with no explanation offered. Although that might make the show more appealing to the average Joe, I personally find it to be very lame, especially since the show targets developers.
I’m disappointed with the lack of actual coding challenge (check out episode 1 and 2). Still it’s worth watching if you’re interested in the hacking and/or the security feild (Note: no actual know hows are exchanged, very generic acted up discussion that’s all)
Episode 3 What do six world-class security experts, the boss of The Plaza hotel and casino, and viewers of The Code Room have in common? Four-and-a-half million dollars! Join us in this episode of The Code Room as the White Hats and the Black Hats battle for the security of Las Vegas, Nevada. Host Jessi Knapp and Microsoft Security Guru Joe Stagner narrate behind-the-scenes as the Hackers try to gain control of The Plaza’s online money management system and our Security Team tries to always stay one step ahead in this high-stake race.
